Brand identity

Kiln House

An identity for an imagined ceramics studio, built around the arc of a potter's wheel.

KILN HOUSE

Concept project. Kiln House is a fictional brand created by Baremark Studios. This is not client work.

The challenge

Craft brands often look interchangeable: warm neutrals, a script logo, a photo of hands in clay. The brief we set ourselves was to make a handmade business feel confident and contemporary without losing its warmth.

The approach

We started from the wheel itself. The mark is built from a single arc that repeats, rotates and stacks, the same way a pot rises from one continuous motion.

A heavy grotesk wordmark keeps the brand from feeling precious, while a restricted palette of kiln black and glaze white lets the products carry the colour.

Outcome

This is a self-initiated concept, so there are no client results to report.
